Excess oxygen from increased rate of breathing, without any physical outlet, such as running, will make anxiety states more intense. Steps to take to minimize dizziness and lightheadedness:
1) Breathing exercises (deep belly breathing)
2) Be more active
3) Meditation
4) Generally reduce overall anxiety
